FULL JOB DESCRIPTION:

Salary Range: $59,488 – $89,232 annually

Hiring Range: $59,488- $70,000 annually

Job Summary

Louisa County Water Authority is seeking an HR Manager & Safety Coordinator to oversee our HR operations while leading our workplace safety programs. This unique role blends employee relations, recruiting, and compliance with hands-on safety management – perfect for someone who thrives on variety and enjoys making an impact.

This is a non-exempt position.

What You’ll Do

  • Manage HR functions including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and employee relations
  • Develop and maintain HR policies, procedures, and compliance programs
  • Oversee workplace safety: training, inspections, reporting, and OSHA compliance
  • Partner with leadership to promote a positive, inclusive, and safety-conscious culture
  • Maintain accurate HR and safety records and prepare reports as needed
  • Be a trusted resource for employees and leadership alike

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Safety, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 3+ years of HR experience (safety program experience preferred)
  • Knowledge of employment law and workplace safety regulations (OSHA)
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to balance professionalism with approachability (a sense of humor helps, too!)
  • HR or Safety certifications (PHR, SHRM-CP, CSP, etc.) a plus
