Public Hearing Notice FY2025 Water and Sewer Rate Increase

The Louisa County Water Authority Board of Directors will meet and conduct a public hearing at 6:30 pm on Wednesday, June 12, 2024 in the Louisa County Office Building; Public Meeting Room, Main Floor, 1 Woolfolk Avenue, Louisa, Virginia 23093.  The meeting will be in person and the public is encouraged to provide any input for the Public Comment period or Public Hearing either : 1) by signing-up to speak in person; 2) in advance (in writing to Louisa County Water Authority, 23 Loudin Lane, Louisa, Virginia 23093 or by email at pbaughman@louisacounty.gov all letters and emails will be read into the official record of the meeting)

This rate increase is being considered for operations and maintenance/upgrade needs of our facilities in order to maintain compliance with current and emerging regulations.

Utility and Service Rates:   Current      Proposed

Water Base Rate                $23.13       $28.68     Increase of $5.55 up to 3,000 gallons

Water Over 3,000 gallons   $7.71         $9.56       Increase of $1.85 per 1,000 gallons

Sewer Base Rate               $34.23        $42.45     Increase of $8.22 up to 3,000 gallons

Over 3,000 gallons             $11.41        $14.15     Increase of $2.74 per 1,000 gallons

Wholesale User Rate per 1,000    $5.99    $7.42   Increase of $1.43 per 1,000 gallons        

Consecutive public water supply systems shall be entitled to a 22.5% discount off the established retail rate for water as long as their minimum usage exceeds 4.25 million gallons per month.  Also known as Wholesale User Rate.
