RE: Zion Crossroads Water Tank Maintenance
Dear Valued Customer,
This notice is to inform you that the Zion Crossroads Water Tank will be taken out of service on Monday, November 12, 2018 for routine cleaning and maintenance. You may notice a slight decrease in pressure for a short period of time, but the system will balance out and pressure should return to normal. In order to maintain the pressure, you may see a fire hydrants flowing in the Quail Hunt and Forest Court sections of Spring Creek. Please do not be alarmed, we will shut the hydrants down as soon as the tank is back into service.
You may have some discolored water due to the initial pressure variance. If this happens, please flush your cold water until the water clears. DO NOT FLUSH YOUR HOT WATER. Flushing your hot water can cause sediment to collect in your hot water tank shortening its useful life.
Our maintenance staff will be working in conjunction with the contractor to ensure a smooth transition as the water tank is drained and pressure is maintained through the fire hydrants. In order to ensure public safety, the water tank will not be placed back into service until two consecutive bacteria samples can be taken and the water deemed safe for public consumption. We expect the tank to be placed back into service before the end of the week (November 12 – 16, 2018).
If you have any questions please feel free to contact our business office at 540-967-1122 during regular business hours of 8:00 am – 4:30 pm Monday – Friday. Also note that Monday, November 12, 2018 is a holiday and the business office will be closed.
Thank you for your understanding while we work to ensure our infrastructure is maintained and in good operating condition!
